Photovoltaic (PV) is the name for the conversion of solar energy into direct current electricity.

Solar Edge

SolarEdge Technology provides its customers with a unique way of harvesting more electricity, allowing for a simpler and safer installation and exceptional reliability with standard warranties of 12 years, upgradable to 25 years on the inverters.

SolarEdge developed the DC optimized inverter solution by splitting the traditional inverter functionality into two. The power optimizer that maximizes energy production for each module and a simplified inverter that is only responsible for DC-AC inversion and grid management.


With load shedding required to stabilize South Africa’s electric grid, storage solutions provide backup power during grid interruption for backed-up loads, in addition to increasing self-consumption.

The SolarEdge solar energy system can be coupled with SolarEdge’s StorEdge™ for a complete solar energy and storage solution. With StorEdge™, you only need a single inverter to manage and monitor solar energy generation, energy consumption, and energy storage. Backup Power

StorEdge can automatically provide backup power to pre-selected household loads during grid interruptions. A combination of PV and battery is used to power important loads such as the refrigerator, TV, lights and AC outlets, day or night.

The StorEdge solution can also be used to increase energy independence for homeowners, by utilising a battery to store power and supply power as needed. To optimise self-consumption, the batter is automatically charged and discharged to meet consumption needs and reduce the amount of power purchased from the grid.
