Removal of 104 x 150L geysers each containing a 3kw electrical element and replace it with a centralised hot water system comprising of 10 x 1000L German hot water storage tanks and 4 x 25kw ITS heat pumps as well as an efficient hot water ring main.

Result
Fantastic installation that has reduced their daily electricity consumption for hot water from 900kwh to 200kwh per day. The return on investment for this client was 1.5 years.

Case Study

1 x 27.6kW SolarEdge three-phase inverter, 30kW solar panels, Grid-tied system

Client requirement
The main goal of the project was to reduce Oro Agri’s electricity demand and costs during daytime operation.

Result
The 30kW solar array provides approximately 30% of Oro Agri’s electricity consumption during daytime operation. Over the system’s estimated 25 year life, over 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions will be avoided.

System Details:

  • 30kW solar panels
  • Grid-tied system

Project Goals: The main goal of the project was to reduce Oro Agri’s electricity demand and costs during daytime operation. A secondary goal was shrinking their carbon footprint through clean solar energy generation.

Results: The 30kW solar array provides approximately 30% of Oro Agri’s electricity consumption during daytime operation. By feeding solar energy directly into the building, the grid-tied system effectively reduces the facility’s electricity draw from the utility.

By meeting 30% of their daytime energy needs with solar, Oro Agri has significantly decreased its carbon emissions. Over the system’s estimated 25 year life, over 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions will be avoided.

The system also provides a hedge against rising electricity prices. Solar energy is free once the system is paid off, providing Oro Agri with long-term energy price stability.

Since November 2019 they have had compete independence from the Grid and no load shedding interruptions.
